On Friday, through my baby Mothership Writers, we just opened for pre-orders on a Mothership Notebook a book full of writing hints and tips, and creative inspiration - and it uses song titles as prompts to get mums writing, and exploring their motherhood experience. In our Mothership Writers workshops, we call it the Freewriting Jukebox. You hear the song title and then you start writing... seeing where your pen takes you.

The Notebook includes 40 song titles all of which are chosen for mums to express the full spectrum of experience (so we've got things like Led Zeppelin's Good Times Bad Times, Massive Attack's Teardrop, Bowie's Changes...). I also realise that the last song I picked for the book, We've Only Just Begun, was YOUR last track... (and you really were just beginning, hey?).

At fear of this all sounding a bit too much like self-promotion, for every copy sold we're donating £2 to Project MAMA, a charity that helps migrant mamas. So, it's about writing as a force for good - with a little help from music too. And all the tracks are SOUND. It was so fun, putting it together.
