Latest revision as of 21:02, 19 January 2024

The Monday Night Album Club on the 15th of January 2024 was a listening party held on the Community Garden Radio Discord and on Community Garden Radio. It was the eighty fourth edition of the Album Club, and it was a special edition of the show to celebrate Tuftii's 40th birthday.

It was the fifty-first album club to be broadcast directly on Community Garden Radio.

Background

On the 14th of November, Kathryn from South Shields launched a Discord channel called "🚫shhhhh-do-not-look-tuftiiiiiiiiiiiiii".[1] Inside, Gardeners set about building the structure of the show ready for January.

It was decided that the show would consist of voice notes from Gardeners, friends, family and some other surprise folks along with chosen tracks to accompany the voice notes. Kathryn herded the content into position, chose and order and the show was born.

Pre-show mix

The pre-show mix was collated by Kathryn from South Shields, with Macs choosing the second track played.

Birthday Show

The birthday show was made up from voice notes from listeners, broadcasters, friends, family and some surprise appearances. Along with tracks chosen by the folks who submitted voice notes.

Tuftii's deck was anonymised and all people were called "Person X" to avoid any spoilers before actual broadcast time.

The show has been broken down into it's broadcast blocks.

First Track, KfSS intro, Second Track, Person 0

The first track to be played was chosen because it was the first ever track played in Album Club 001 back in May 2022.

Then Kathryn introduced the evening and the second track which was played because the line 'put the milk in first' reminds Kathryn of Tuftii.

After Panic Shack, an audio clip was played out which was taken from Episode 044 Live from Spiritland 1 where Tuftii made their first live appearance on CGR along with the track they picked (and Kathryn had suggested that evening).
